Bazzill Basics Embossed Cardstock ~ Amazing!

I've had this cardstock for a few months just waiting for the right photo to come along and I am so glad I waited!  This picture of my darling daughter sporting her new haircut was perfect!

I cut the opening on the beautiful embossed red paper with my Cricut George & Basic Shapes.  I pop dotted the entire sheet on a piece of black Bazzill Swiss Dots (which is embossed also) and floated the photo in the middle. The title is cut from the Pooh  Font cartridgeand shaddowed in white to make it pop off the page! I cut a 1.5" strip from the black Swiss dot paper, stiched it in white heavy duty thread and added a big black button to mimic the sleeve detail on her favorite black pea-coat!  She loves this layout and so do I!

Because...

Prima Marketing has some amazing products and Lil Lambs Boutique has a great selecion of Prima products including some amazing deluxe kits!  I got to play with the Prima Marketing ~Watercolor Rainbow ~Deluxe Scrapbook Kit and here is what I came up with for my first layout.

There are so many cool elements that I added to this layout, like floating the double matted photo in the recessed frame:

The stamped, inked & embossed "b" that I pop dotted in the title:

And the flowers I cut in multiple sizes from the Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge, embossed, inked and layered them and used the clay roses from the Prima Say It In Pearls and Roses ( I'm saving all the yummy pearls for another project)!

You just gotta pop over to The Blog at Little Lambs and check out the work of my fellow designers.  Their work is amazing and inspirational! Thanks for popping in, gotta run!  There is so many beautiful papers in this kit I just gotta go play!

Thinking of Others Challenge!

Here's my offering for the last challenge Robyn (My Pink Stamper) put to us.  She asked us to make a card for someone special and make sure to send it out tomorrow.  I owe a very special person a thank you note and created this super simple card using the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge.  I love the super clean designs on this cartridge and the card feature makes it a snap to make the most adorable cards!

Of course, I used my favorite Bo Bunny Double Dot cardstock for this one and made the base of this card from white Bo Bunny CrissCross Cardstock (another personal favorite). I filled in the seeds with some black stickles for a bit of sparkle and tied a red gingham bow on the stem!  Super simple and so super cute!

A Springy Challenge!

Robyn's (My Pink Stamper) second challenge was to make something springy to chase away the winter chills.  I just got the Paisley cartridge in the mail on Friday and it has the cutest images on it!  I am sure it's going to become one of my favorites!

This card was put together using scraps including Stampin' Up! borders and cardstock, Bo Bunny Double Dot, DCWV and the last bit of yellow checked ribbon on the spool!

A Cold Weather Challenge

Robyn over at My Pink Stamper is having a few challenges and I find challenges just the "kick in the bum" I need to catch up on some desperately needed cards for my stash!  Her first challenge was make something with blackand  your favorite color.

I just adore the way pink, black and white look together!  I used the Wildcard Cartridge for the "argyle" cuts and Storybook for the placard where I stamped the word grateful.  Diamond patterned ribbon and a button finish off this super simple card!

Easter Fun!

Okay, I know this is a little irreverrent, but I couldn't help myself.  When I saw the new Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge, I knew I had to have it, even if I only used it to make this card!

The base of the card is two eggs welded together, and cut out of my favorite paper ever, Bo Bunny Double Dot ( available from Lil Lambs Boutique).  When there is a rounded edge like this I actually weld a small rectangle between the two, so the edges of the shape don't get mis-shaped when folded. (clear as mudd right?).  The bunny with the bite out of his ear is so cute, but for the other rabbit I needed an ear with no bite.  To fix this I welded an oval from the George cart inside the the bunnys ear and it cut perfect!  then I just used my Cutterbee's to take a bite out of his bum!  LOL.  The balance of the cuts are just from scraps and a bit of yellow checked ribbon (from JoAnns) finishes off the card!  So much fun, right?

Valentine ~ Wood you be mine?

My dear hubby is not a real sentimental guy, but I know when he really likes a card I make for him, because he takes it to work and puts it on his bulletin board.  I hope this years card makes the board!

This card was made using  the George & Basic Shapes and Gypsy Font cartridges and lots and lots of welding!  I welded two hearts (from George cart) together to create the base of the card which I cut out of paper with a wood grain.  I inked the edeges with  Smooch Spritz Pearlized Spray (available from Lil' Lambs Boutique).  This spray is so yummy with is subtle pearly shimmer ~ you just gotta give it a try!

The heart lace was created by using that same heart shape (from the George cartridge) as a base.  I then layered and welded two small hearts together and welded them to the base, and each other, all the way around, turning each as I went.  I cut it out of Doodlebug Sugarcoated white paper.  A few stickeled hearts and a greeting and the front was done!

The greeting is the Gypsy font.  I like welding smaller size cuts together because it makes it so much easier to put together after it is cut!

Out of this World

I haven't posted alot lately but I have been busy!  I got a Cricut Gypsy for Christmas from the hubs!  The gypsy has rejuvinated my creative mojo and I am scrappin' happy again!  If you follow my blog you know that we live out of town. I spend alot of time waiting for kiddos, as none of the children drives yet (counting down till July when my dear daughter takes test to get drivers license). The Gypsy enables me to design cards and layouts while I am waiting and makes the whole process so much quicker! I actually designed my next layout while waiting in the Drs office yesterday! My Gypsy goes everywhere with me!

The layout below was created with the Everyday Paperdolls Cartridge.  What a fun cart this is.  I know it will be used quite often.

I used metalic paper for the saucer and tucked the alien behind a piece of vellum. The colored "lights" are inexpensive jewels picked up at Walmart!

I printed out the greeting on the sign off my computer and added it to the pole the darling little alien is holding.

A simple title, a few stars, planets and astroids and this layout was done.
